TO ALMERIA AIRPORT Almeria airport is located to the east of the Costa Tropical and is approximate a 1 hour 15 minute drive to the coastal towns of Salobrena and Motril. It is a small airport and it can therefore be quicker to pick up rental cars and luggage, etc. On the return journey, the check-in area is usually uncrowded. Once through passport control, there is a cafe and small duty-free shop.
