As you enter through the electric gates (with video phone entry) you know you are in for a treat. Ahead of you is the single storey whitewashed building known as Cortijo Paco. As you walk round to the front of the building you take in the fabulous grounds, terrace, pool and garden.

As you walk up the steps and through the covered terrace you come to the stable-style front door. You enter into a multifunctional living space comprising of sitting room, dining room and kitchen. The TV area has seating for six on three sofas round a glass coffee table and has satellite/DVD and hi-fi. The dining table seats six but there are four extra chairs. The kitchen area is functional with small oven/grill, microwave, gas hob and fridge/freezer, however there is a well equipped BBQ outside on the terrace by the pool. The kitchen area is separated from the rest of the room by a bar style work surface.

There are three bedrooms, one double and two twin rooms and a bathroom. The spacious double bedroom has matching pine dressing table bedside cabinets and double wardrobe. Both twin rooms have bedside cabinets and lamps, although one also has a pine wardrobe. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, a toilet and a basin. The washing machine is in the garage by the side of the cortijo.

Immediately outside there is a large covered terrace area which looks down over the potted plants and onto the lower terrace with BBQ and pool. The pool itself is 12m x 5m and has a dolphin mosaic on the bottom and is accessed by roman steps. The surrounding terrace area has plenty of space for patio furniture and sun-loungers, ideal for those who like the outdoor life.

Cortijo Paco is a traditional Spanish cortijo, full of rustic charm and is situated in Puntalon, five minutes drive from Motril and fifteen minutes from Salobrena.

Motril is a busy commercial town but has a nice pedestrian friendly town centre with a wide variety of shops and boutiques.  Like Motril, Salobrena has a local market on both Tuesday and Friday mornings. However, down on the beachfront you will find El Peñon (the rock) with a variety of restaurants and bars at the west end and a bar/nightclub at the east end with a number of bars and restaurants sited in between on the beach itself.

Sandwiched between Salobreña and Motril is Playa Granada beach front and Los Moriscos (18 hole) golf course. Ten minutes to the west is the town of Almunecar with its busy local market on Fridays, quaint old town Moorish narrow streets and water park on the seafront (summer only).

Moving further a field you may like to take a trip up into the Alpujarra or Sierra Nevada Mountains to admire the breathtaking views, go walking in summer, skiing in winter and sample village life, or fifty minutes by car is the city of Granada with the great Alhambra palace.
