Finca Maria Carmen is situated 5 minutes behind Motril with delightful uninterrupted views across the hills planted with fruit trees down to the Mediterranean sea. There is a large private pool of 12 mtrs long x 6 mtrs wide.
The Finca sits on a hillside looking down to the sea. The property has its own gated entrance with car parking either inside or outside the gates. The flowers and fruit trees surrounding the house are all organically grown and the land surrounding the Finca and belonging to it is still retained as a productive and working farm.
There are many areas both shaded and sunny for relaxing together or to find a quieter spot to read that book you haven´t had time for! There is a large brick built BBQ. The pool has secure gated access and is fenced.
The Finca has an airconditioning unit in the sitting room and floor standing fans in all bedrooms. The kitchen is well equipped and the furnishings are comfortable and well maintained. The Finca has Satellite TV reception (free to air channels) and DVD player.
The town of Motril is 5 minutes away by car and the beaches are a 10 minute drive. Motril has plenty of shops, restaurants, markets and large supermarkets for all shopping needs. A car is essential.
The Sierra Nevada, Spain's highest mountain range, is a magnificent backdrop to this partly undiscovered area of Spain. The area enjoys a microclimate, subtropical in character, a warm and gentle 18 degrees in winter and an average of 25 degrees in summer.
The beaches are unspoilt, there are golf courses in Granada (18 holes) and Los Moriscos golf course (9 holes - 9 further holes will be ready in May 2006) just 6km from Motril, by the sea with a golf bar and a restaurant There is also the Marina at the Port of Motril. In the winter months you can ski in the Sierras in the morning and sunbathe by the swimming pool in the afternoon.
This is the old Andalucian part of Spain, complete with fiestas, whitewashed villages, Moorish castles and some of the best and least expensive food and wine to be found. The restaurants and tapas bars are very good and the fish is excellent.
There is history to be found everywhere, from the Alhambra Palace in Granada (just 50 minutes by car) to the Alpujarras region. The coastal towns of Almeria, Almunecar, Salobrena and Nerja are also well worth a visit.
