Villa Maturana is situated at the top of a hill with sweeping views across the Costa Tropical coastline and coastal town of Salobrena.  It is in a peaceful area and is not overlooked by other houses and yet only a 10 minute drive to the town and beaches of Salobrena.

The house is surrounded by land planted with productive fruit trees and even comes with its own tree house which will certainly keep the children happy for many days!  The large private swimming pool (10 metres x 4 metres with roman steps) directly in front of the house is gated and fenced.  There is night time terrace and pool lighting - the pool lighting can be set to a disco theme with colours of green, blue, red and purple lighting the pool!  The large BBQ and terrace situated at the side of the house under the advocado trees, offering shade during the high summer months, is a perfect spot to relax over lunch.

The interior of Villa Maturana is furnished in the rustic Spanish country style and is on two floors.  The ground floor has a kitchen, bathroom (with bath/shower) and separate toilet, one large bedroom (with double bed and two singles) and a very large sitting/dining area.  In the sitting room you will find a large dining table and chairs, open working fireplace, woodburner, plenty of seating areas, TV with free to air satellite reception and a separate TV for games. Up the stairs from the sitting room is the second floor where there are two further twin bedrooms and a landing area which can be screened offering a further two beds.

The villa is located in the prestigious "Monte de los Almendros" urbanization just outside the picturesque seaside village of Salobrena on the southern coast of Spain. This area of the southern coast, now officially referred to as the Costa Tropical de Granada, is 45 minutes by car directly south of Granada and 1 hour and 5 minutes east of Malaga. The villa is also located just 10 minutes by car outside Salobrena town center. The neighborhood which has an abundance of places to admire the beautiful views of sea and coast below is ideal for walking.

Salobrena is a lovely picturesque Spanish village that is ever growing and becoming more international. With it's 14th century Moorish castle perched atop the large rock which jets up from the surrounding planes Salobrena is a truly Spanish white seaside village. Salobrena has a current population of approximately 12,000 and is transforming itself from it's roots as an agricultural town to one where tourism and real estate are it's primary source of economic activity.

The town is divided into two main areas that have now grown together. The old part of town or "Casco Antiguo" is built on and around the large rock that defines the towns topology. The newer beach area is teeming with sun worshippers of all nationalities. Both parts of Salobrena are full of shops, restaurants, tapas bars and cafes. There is a wide range of things to do and sights to see both in town and in the surrounding areas.

Between the coast and the city of Granada, with the Alhambra Palace, are the Alpujarra mountains which are doted with interesting hillside white villages. Also the larger Sierra Nevada mountains just outside Granada with a popular ski resort at the top. It is of course possible to enjoy a late spring day of skiing followed by sun bathing at the beach or round the pool. The climate is truly sub tropical with mild winters, and summer temperatures in the mid to high 80 degrees F. ( 27 degrees C.) all combined with low humidity and soothing sea breezes.
