Villa Palmera is set on a hillside with views to the coast and the surrounding hills planted with almond trees. Only a 10 minute drive from the towns of Motril and Salobrena or to the beaches it is ideally located to provide a peaceful and secluded holiday and is also near enough to all things of interest in the area. For those with children, there are waist height child security gates between the house and pool/terrace.

The house is very much a second home and is therefore equipped to a high and comfortable standard. It is built in the traditional Andalucian style and features cool tiled floors throughout and wooden window shutters - all with mosquito nets. The main house is on one level and has two large bedrooms (both with ceiling fans) or airconditioning/heating, one bathroom with bidet, bath/shower, a large sitting room and an American style bar/kitchen at one end. The kitchen comes equipped with everything you could possibly need.

A door from the kitchen area leads onto a side terrace. Here you will find the brickbuilt BBQ, wooden pergola with ceiling fan offering shade with table and chairs for alfresco dining. In the evenings the front terrace with ceiling fan offers good views over the night-lit swimming pool to the hillsides.  The main house has airconditioning/heating.

Villa Palmera has satellite TV channels (BB1, BBC2, after 7pm BBC3 and BBC4, ITV, CBeebies, SKY News, CNN, travel/music/cartoon channels) as well as Spanish TV reception. There are plenty of books and board games. There is also a DVD player and plenty of DVDs.

The separate garden studio situated opposite the house has large double entrance doors into a bedroom with 2 single beds, a bathroom and kitchenette and offers spacious self contained accommodation. There is also a separate foldaway bed suitable for a child which can be moved where needed.

The well maintained gardens are planted with flowering plants and shrubs and the many palm trees surrounding the house and pool/terrace offer welcome shade. There are plenty of cushioned sunloungers around the pool. A children´s paddling pool is also available if required.

Motril is the largest town on the Costa Tropical de Granada. Here you have access to modern shops, hundreds of authentic eateries and excellent shopping from luxurious to bargain. The fresh food market is open every day except Sundays and the outdoor market comes to town every Tuesday and Friday morning.

Activities abound nearby. Many of our guests have enjoyed horseback riding, offered by a reliable outfit quite close to the villa. Others prefer hiking along many of the suggested routes in the area. Everyone can appreciate Granada, rich in culture and history and undoubtedly the jewel of the province. Between Villa Palmera and Granada lie the charming Lecrin Valley and the Alpujarras villages. Countless pueblos selling traditional crafts and offering mouth-watering hearty fare await your exploration, most within an hour´s drive from this villa.
